Missions Matter at Cedar Creek

The Great Commission
The Great Commission is one of the most comprehensive and compelling statements in the Bible. Our Missions philosophy at Cedar Creek is rooted in this biblical passage. The Great Commission commands us to be Great Commission Christians who are 100% committed and dedicated to multiplying the church. We strive to live as disciples who actively make disciples, and we strive to empower others to multiply and make more disciples in our church, local community, and globally.
‘Missions’ is the longest standing, highest priority ministry at our church. As a team, it is our desire for everyone at Cedar Creek to become personally engaged in living the Great Commission, as we seek to integrate missions into the very heart of our church. We are working towards embracing, supporting, and participating in evangelism and humanitarian service in local, national and global communities.
Our Values
These four distinct values guide and encompass our actions in missions at Cedar Creek Community Church:
- Nurturing - Encouraging the spiritual growth and missional development of the people of Cedar Creek Community Church.
- Engaging - Attracting and involving people directly in the Great Commission.
- Empowering - Unleashing our church missionaries and the people of Cedar Creek by supporting them physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
- Partnering - Collaborating with individuals and organizations in shared ventures, working together towards our common goals.
What Does the Mission Team Do?
- Meets at least once a month
- Provides and maintain strategic direction & policy guidelines
- Makes decisions with respect to budget, financial support, and approval of short and long term missionaries or projects
- Communicates with, cares for, and prays for Cedar Creek missionary partners and affiliated organizations
- Plans for Cedar Creek short term mission service teams
- Promotes fundraising
- Provides information on local missions events
- Approves and helps to coordinate Window to the World segments for Sunday morning services
- Maintains Missions communications display in foyer
- Reports to the elders
- Shares missions-related updates with the Cedar Creek congregation
